Jeff trongone
Co-Founder and Co-Managing Member
Jeff Trongone is Co-Founder and Co-Managing Member of Malbec Capital Partners (MCP), a boutique advisory firm introducing investment and financing opportunities to institutions, family offices, and real estate development and investor project sponsors. MCP’s primary focus is in the real estate sector, specifically, real estate development, acquisition, and restructuring financing and strategy. Prior, he was founder and CEO of Malbec Partners, an alternative asset management business including multiple investment teams with diverse strategies and extensive risk management capabilities. Malbec Partners was initially sponsored and a part of BNP Paribas and launched with a $350Mil investment from BNP Paribas. Jeff managed all business, client and investment activities as well as having senior executive roles at BNP Paribas.
He was previously Chief Operating Officer of Third Point, a highly successful hedge fund located in New York City ($18 Bil), responsible for all non-investment activities, investor relationships, capital raising ($1.5Bil) and risk management. Prior to that, he held positions at JP Morgan as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the global asset management business ($600 Bil AUM) and was a member of the Executive Committee. He was also part of JP Morgan’s Investment bank within the financial institutions group as a banker content expert. Prior to JP Morgan, he was a founding partner, Managing Director and COO/CFO of Chancellor Capital Management ($60 Bil AUM), a diverse asset manager and formally Citibank Investment Management.
Mr. Trongone is a leader in the investment and banking businesses – he has been on multiple public and private Board of Directors, he has spoken at conferences and advised both large firms and start-ups regarding strategy and execution. Mr. Trongone has raised multiple USD Billion in investor capital during his career. He has experience in a diverse array of investment and financing capabilities as well as M&A transactions. He has the ability and experience to lead companies small and large and on a global scale and has managed teams in the USA, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Trongone began his career at KPMG and later at Merrill Lynch as Managing Director of Financial Operations of a major Merrill business unit. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University.
John Prescott

John Prescott is the Co-Founder and Co-Managing Member of Malbec Capital Partners (MCP), a boutique advisory firm providing strategic capital markets services, including investment and financing opportunities to institutions, family offices, development sponsors, and private equity firms. MCP’s primary focus is on real estate development, acquisition and refinancing.
He is an attorney who specialized in family office practices who formerly started and directed the family office practice at a Boston-based investment firm.
Prior to this he was chief operating officer and general counsel to a family office where he led the expatriation process for the patriarch who relinquished his US citizenship. Before joining the family office, John was a partner at a Boston law firm where he operated as an outsourced chief operating officer and general counsel for the family office.
Mr. Prescott’s practice included representing ultra-high net worth individuals, families and family offices in litigation and business matters.
He started his legal career as a trial lawyer representing ultra-high net worth individuals at one of the leading domestic relations firms in Boston.
Mr. Prescott received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
